Bags of Fun exists to bring joy, laughter and relief to every child fighting a life-threatening disease or condition.
In addition to the pediatric patients that we already serve, Bags of Fun has partnered with Denver Health’s Inpatient Adolescent Psychiatric Unit to provide bags to pediatric mental health patients. As you can imagine, children have been faced with additional barriers and stressors augmented by COVID-19 impacting their mental health. And most recently, Children’s Hospital Colorado has declared a Mental Health “State of Emergency” for Youth Mental Health after an unprecendented number of children 8 and older have reported needing immediate treatment for suicidal thoughts and attempts – naming suicide as the leading cause of death for Colorado’s children.
